Hollywood comedian and Arrested Development actor, dies, aged 80

Hollywood actor and musician Martin Mull has died at the age of 80 after a long battle with a mysterious illness.

The veteran actor is best known for his roles in TV shows such as Arrested Development and Rosanne, and the murder mystery film Clue.

Mull’s daughter announced the actor’s death via Instagram on Thursday.

“I am heartbroken to share that my father passed away at home on June 27 after a brave battle with a long illness,” she said.

Mull, who has worked in Hollywood for more than forty years, also starred in TV series such as Veep, Two and a Half Men and in the cult classic Sabrina the Teenage Witch as Principal Willard Kraft.

He starred alongside Hollywood greats Robin Williams and Sally Field in the film Mrs. Doubtfire from 1993.

Heartbroken fans took to Facebook to express their shock.

“Rest in paradise, one of the great actors of my time,” one person wrote.

“I will always remember him as Leon on Roseanne and in the movie Mr. Mom starring Michael Keaton,” said another

“I’ll always remember him as Leon, the only man who could talk to Roseanne.”
