A jailed drug dealer involved in a £4.2 million conspiracy has been ordered to hand over his assets under a Proceeds of Crime Act order.

Faiz Rehman, 37, from Bradford, was jailed for 15 years in February 2023 after being linked to a major drugs operation.

Rehman boasted that he could sell up to 50kg of Class A drugs a month and move millions of kilos of drugs in 11 weeks.

On Friday at Bradford Crown Court, Rehman was told he must give up his available assets worth £40,000 over the next three months or face a further 10 months in prison.

Rehman, of Hendford Drive, was linked to the operation by the National Crime Agency after the Encrochat messaging system, used by criminals, was cracked.

When he was arrested in February 2022, police are said to have seized almost £2,000 in cash and valuable watches.

Despite having no income, the defendant lived a lavish lifestyle with cars and expensive watches such as Rolexes, the court in Leeds heard earlier.

Judge Jonathan Gibson imposed the confiscation order in addition to a five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order, which will come into effect when Rehman is eventually released from prison.

The order includes powers for police to monitor Rehman’s use of communications equipment, the vehicles he owns and where he lives.

The judge said the order was not only desirable but also necessary to prevent, limit or disrupt Rehman’s involvement in further serious crimes.
