Red arrows appear over Ryde for Armed Forces Day

The Red Arrows will put on an acrobatic show over Ryde ahead of a busy program of Armed Forces Day festivities today (Sunday).

The famous jets will leave their mark on the sky at 11.30am, with colorful parades, activities and family entertainment along the coast throughout the day.

The main stage, sponsored by Hovertravel, welcomes island musician Jack Nicholson, before popular vocal harmony Vintage Trio perform an hour-long set of war songs in Eastern Gardens.

We then turn our eyes back to the skies for the arrival of the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team at 4pm.

The music continues with crowd favourites the Isle of Wight Highland Pipes and Drums and Vectis Corps of Drums not only in the marching parade but also with their own solo shows. This year’s marching bands are sponsored by Rouse Intelligent Financial Planning.

Later in the day the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team will perform over the beach at 4pm.
