The Dubai court has sentenced two Pakistani workers to three months in prison, followed by deportation, for assaulting a colleague.

According to court documents, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in a shared space in a delivery room on February 3, 2024.

Both suspects, who stayed in the same room as the victim, conspired to commit the attack.

The first suspect brandished a knife to threaten the victim into compliance and, under duress from this threat, the second suspect committed the assault.

A fellow resident woke up to the victim’s cries for help and intervened, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Prosecutors presented compelling evidence to the court, including eyewitness statements and forensic analysis reports linking the second suspect to the crime.

At their first court appearance in Dubai on April 22, both suspects denied charges of threatening and sexually abusing the victim.

However, the court found the witness statements and forensic evidence credible and consistent.

The judges noted that there was coordinated action and the use of a weapon in the crime, underscoring the seriousness of the attack.

In its ruling, the court sentenced both defendants to three months in prison, effective May 13, 2024, and ordered their deportation after serving their sentences.
