Conflict in the Middle East: Speaking After Kidnapping

Hamas kidnapped Noa Argamani, 26, on October 7 last year when the militant group attacked a music festival as part of a larger raid on Israeli targets.

She was held captive for 245 days before she and three other hostages were rescued by the Israel Defense Forces on June 8. She is now speaking publicly for the first time since she was rescued.

“Even though I am home now, we cannot forget the rest of the hostages that are still being held by Hamas, and we must do everything we can to bring them home,” she says in a two-minute video played during a protest in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Saturday, CNN reported.

– Don’t you dare go to their houses.

– My biggest concern

Argamani continues in the video that she is proud to be with her family again.

– As an only child – and the daughter of a terminally ill mother – my parents were my biggest concern while I was incarcerated, she says, according to what she was quoted by CNN.

Caught in the movie

Argamani’s kidnapping was filmed on October 7 and has gone viral around the world. The video shows the 26-year-old being taken away on a motorcycle. Her boyfriend was also kidnapped.

– I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that there are still 120 hostages, including Avinatan Or, my partner from whom I was separated during the kidnapping, says Argamani.

While protesters fill the streets of Tel Aviv each week, attacks and fighting in Gaza continue unabated. Many Israelis feel the government is not doing enough to rescue the last hostages and want a ceasefire.

Discontent in Tel Aviv

Protesters reportedly set fire to car tires and set fires in the middle of the street during a demonstration on Saturday in Tel Aviv, the report said. CNN.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the worst phase of the war in the Gaza Strip is almost over, but so far there are no signs of success.

The prime minister has been heavily criticized by his countrymen and other world leaders for the war against Hamas and the continued failure to reach a ceasefire.

The situation for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is extremely dangerous due to the intensive attacks and the Israeli blockade that prevents the access of emergency aid. Alarm bells have been raised about famine, water shortages and the spread of diseases.
