BRAZZAVILLE, Republic of the Congo – The United States Air Forces in Europe and Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) Band will jointly tour the Republic of the Congo, presenting a diverse musical program featuring classic standards and popular American hits. The tour will also feature educational masterclasses in collaboration with the Congolese Defense Forces Band.

This initiative marks the 64th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and the Republic of Congo and underscores both countries’ commitment to peace, cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

“The ‘Stronger Together’ tour underscores U.S. Air Forces Africa’s commitment to our African partners,” said Lt. Col. Toro-Quiñones, USAFE-AFAFRICA Band commander. “Through music, we aim to strengthen regional relationships and promote a safe, stable and prosperous Africa.”

Performances in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire aim to strengthen international ties and deepen partnerships with local people. “Music’s ability to transcend barriers highlights its power to foster unity,” noted Dominik Halnais, a representative of the US Band. “Our joint performances illustrate how music bridges divides and contributes to global peace and prosperity.”

Highlights of the “Stronger Together” tour include:

  • A visit to the School of Art in Brazzaville with an open-air performance together with local music students.

  • Masterclasses at Villa Washington and the Institut français in Pointe-Noire, involving young artists and local musicians.

  • Concert at the Memorial Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza in Brazzaville on July 3 at 6pm

  • Concert at the Tati Loutard Cultural Centre in Pointe Noire on July 6 at 6pm

“The tour reflects the commitment of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Mission in the Republic of Congo to strengthen bilateral relations through cultural exchanges,” U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Congo Eugene Young stressed. “We are committed partners building a future of mutual support and trust.”
