The Philadelphia 76ers have just signed Tyrese Maxey to a five-year, $204 million contract.

Maxey, who won the Most Improved Player award last season and averaged 26 points per game, was eligible for a rookie extension last season.

The 76ers secured Maxey’s position by not paying him in the offseason to create more salary cap space, instead using his $13 million salary cap hit as a free agent.

Maxey and teammate Joel Embiid were seemingly unstoppable until Embiid was unfortunately injured. While this slowed Maxey down, it did put him at the top of the opposing scouting report.
