Summer Streetfest Returns to Downtown Woodstock

The Downtown Woodstock BIA prepares for Summer Streetfest.

WOODSTOCK – It’s a summer tradition in the Friendly City.

This year, Summer Streetfest will take place in the city centre on Friday 19 July and Saturday 20 July.

Duane Kumala-Thomas, operations manager of Downtown Woodstock BIA, says there will be three stages spread out across Dundas Street this year.

“They are all full of bands, music and entertainment. They alternate this year, so if you see them on the Ironworks stage, they will automatically end up on the main stage at Museumplein.”

There will also be a live DJ in the Hanak Foods parking lot on the corner of Vansittart Ave and Dundas. This is where the Kids Zone will be located and they will have lots of fun activities this year.

“Inflatable sports, the basketball nets and baseball. Last year we had a Prime Barbershop obstacle course, which was exciting, so we’d like to do a lot of that stuff. And then on the other side we have the Touch-A-Truck and a lot of cars coming down.”

Many local businesses will be setting up stalls during the festivities and there will also be other vendors on site.

On Sunday 21 July, South Gate Centre will host the Streetfest Cruise.
