Laura Hennings and Bob Ebenstein perform Saturday night at the Morris Graves Museum of Art during the Arts Alive! celebration. (Submitted)

Laura Hennings and Bob Ebenstein play classic rock, sweet ballads, pop staples and folk songs Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Arts Alive! at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St., Eureka. Admission to the show is free.

Hennings has performed as a solo artist for years and co-founded two local bands, The Soulful Sidekicks and Topaz. She has honed her sultry tenor voice singing jazz standards, blues, classic rock, country and ballads, and three Leonard Cohen tribute concerts. She never shies away from familiar songs that most singers would find too complicated or that are traditionally performed only by male vocalists.

Hennings is joined on piano by pianist Bob Ebenstein. Ebenstein is an accompanist for the Redwood Interfaith Gospel Choir and the Eureka First Baptist Church. He has also played in about 50 musicals. He is a regular at open mics in the region.
