The summary of the 2023 Sustainability Report focuses on Montrose’s approach to sustainability, the impact of the environmental solutions provided and Montrose’s own environmental performance.

The summary celebrates the company’s achievements in 2023, including:

  • Submitting short-term greenhouse gas reduction targets for validation by the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi);
  • Establishing two new Employee Resource Groups; and
  • Expanded the company’s cybersecurity team and completed over 4,700 hours of cybersecurity training across the organization.

In addition, the application of innovative solutions in 2023 will have had a meaningful impact, including:

  • 184,808 million British Thermal Units (MMBtu) of renewable natural gas (RNG) generated through the application of our biogas technology;
  • 62,320 working days for leak detection and repair (LDAR) and 47,384 methane leaks (CH4) detected by applying LDAR testing;
  • 20 patent applications filed, 19 patents granted/allowed and 33 pending;
  • 4+ billion gallons of water treated for per- and polyfluorinated compounds (PFAS), resulting in 4,071 pounds of PFAS removed from the environment globally; and
  • 63 million gallons of water purified of non-PFAS contaminants.
