Micah Parsons workout video shows Dallas Cowboys star getting ready for the season

Micah Parsons may have skipped the Dallas Cowboys’ OTAs and the start of their mandatory mini-camp, but he’s been working hard.

While Parsons was initially away from the team, he concentrated on individual training with local boxing instructor Tony Mack. Parsons’ regimen included boxing and defensive reaction drills that mimicked hand-to-hand combat in the trenches.

As we prepare for training camp in three weeks, trainer Lance Deane shared a video of Parsons working out on Instagram.

Parsons can be seen squatting and performing high-intensity drills and agility exercises on the beach.

Parsons took a similar approach last season and when he arrived at training camp he was ready to go.

There is no denying that Parsons is doing everything he can to stay in shape and ensure he can perform at a high level again, with the title of Defensive Player of the Year as a spearhead.

The 25-year-old former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year has been nominated for the Pro Bowl and received All-Pro honors in each of his first three seasons in the league.

He enters his fourth year with 213 tackles, 40.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception, and this season he hopes to continue to perform as one of the NFL’s best defenders with a lucrative contract extension on the horizon.

The Dallas Cowboys fly to the West Coast on Tuesday, July 23, for an opening press conference the following day. The team’s first training camp practice is on Thursday, July 25.
