UB Infrastructure building

UK: To meet Transport for London’s need to upgrade a trackside electrical switchboard, UB Infrastructure devised a way to clad the existing building with aluminum panels manufactured off-site by ADS Laser Cutting and by Walker Construction were installed.

The building had suffered water intrusion and was in danger of catastrophic failure.

“Removal and replacement of the existing building would have involved lengthy design and planning approvals, while more traditional remediation processes would have involved risks due to the site’s proximity to the live railway tracks,” said Charlie Davies, managing director from UBI. ‘Both options would have involved significant costs.

‘In comparison, our UBI Shell solution is designed with durability, longevity and ease of installation as key considerations. This also makes it 85% cheaper.’

ADS Laser Production Director Stuart Rowan described the concept as ‘a game changer for the UK’s rail infrastructure.’
