Bob Dylan & The Band Release Massive 27-CD Box Set Featuring Live Recordings from 1974


Bob Dylan is about to release a new box set featuring live recordings made with The band.

The live recordings from 1974 will be a massive box set consisting of 27 CDs. It will contain 431 live tracks, 417 of which have never been released before. It will also contain 133 newly mixed recordings from 16-track tape, plus all the surviving soundboard recordings.

As a preview of the set, Dylan shared a previously unreleased live recording of “Forever youngfrom a show in Seattle on February 9, 1974. It is now available via digital channels.

The live recordings from 1974 will be released on September 20th and is available for pre-order now.

In addition to the CD box set, Third Man Records will also release the following tracks: The 1974 Live Recordings – The Missing Pre-Flood Songsa three-LP colored vinyl set of highlights from the same recordings. It will include live versions of songs that did not appear on the original Dylan and The Band live album from 1974 Before the flood.

The vinyl set is available via The Third Man’s Vault Available by mail order only. Fans must subscribe by July 31st to qualify.

Both sets celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dylan’s historic tour with The Band, which marked Dylan’s return to touring after an eight-year hiatus. The tour, which kicked off in Chicago on January 4, 1974, saw the two acts play arenas for the first time.
