Stevie Nicks cancels concert at the last minute due to ‘illness;’ Fans outraged: News: Music Times

Stevie Nicks was set to take the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and many fans were already lining up to see the musician perform her classic hits.

However, the music event was canceled at the last minute due to the health condition of one of the band members.

In a message shared by the venue, it was confirmed that the singer will no longer be performing at Hersheypark Stadium, as the statement reads: “Unfortunately, tonight’s performance will be postponed due to illness in the band. Hold on to your tickets. Coming soon a new date has been announced.”

Not everyone took the announcement lightly, as there were already people near the venue when the event was cancelled, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment.

“Standing in line waiting for the doors to open and wow last second cancellation!!! Over 1 hour to get out of the parking lot!! Maybe not such a last second next time!!” wrote one.

“How about you help us get out of here. I drove two hours to a canceled concert and I’ve been stuck here for over an hour?!?!?!?! I just want to get out of this stupid park and go to going home,” wrote another.

“Ticketmaster didn’t email me about the cancellation until 7:30pm! THAT’S not right,” one person said.

One user was disappointed because they had spent a lot of money on tickets and hotel accommodation only to have the concert canceled. They wrote, “I’m so heartbroken about this. It’s a dream of mine to finally see her live. We spent over $800 on tickets plus hotel and travel just for it to be canceled when we got in.”

At the time of writing, Stevie Nicks has not shared an official statement on the matter. It is also unclear which band member is suffering from a ‘disease’.

The musician only has two dates left on her North American tour, including Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Arena on June 18 and Chicago’s Soldier Field on June 21, 2024. It appears these shows will go ahead as planned, as there will be no announcements about a possible cancellation.

After this, Nicks will take a short break before heading to Europe for shows in Belgium, Antwerp, the Netherlands, Glasgow, Manchester and more.

More information about the singer’s upcoming shows is available on her official website.
